Practical examples Is there an entitlement to family allowances during unpaid leave?

In the case of unpaid leave, family allowances are still paid during the current month and the following three months, provided that

• the minimum annual salary for the receipt of family allowances is reached and
• work is resumed with the same employer after the end of the unpaid leave.

If the unpaid leave begins on the first day of a month, the family allowances will be paid for this month and for two further months, provided that the above criteria are met.
